The new directive 97/23/EG of the European Parliament and the Council on the approximation of the laws of Members States on pressure equipment was adopted on May 29, 1997. Implementation and application of the pressure-equipment directive requires rethinking by manufactures, officially authorized experts, operators and the authorities.
