Climate-Change Projects – Selling of Indulgences or Royal Road?
(08.04.2008)
In March 2008, 970-plus CDM projects based on the Kyoto Protocol were registered with the United Nations, and the voluntary carbon market is booming too. Lately, however, emissions trading has been criticized as the modern version of the buying and selling of indulgences. Yet it is a focal element of the entire climate-change policy. Prerequisites for the effective use of this instrument are transparent standards and end-to-end validation and verification. This was the conclusion drawn by a workshop organized by TÜV SÜD in Munich on 2 April 2008.
Nanotechnology – using opportunities, minimizing risks
(06.03.2008)
Nanotechnology will have a major impact on developments in many spheres of life. TÜV SÜD supports the producers and processing companies of nano-materials by offering innovative risk management and quality assurance service packages. At Hannover Messe, between 21 and 25 April 2008, the specialists at TÜV SÜD present CENARIOS® system and nanoGMP (Hall 13, Stand E81).
