Hoists and cranes
Directive 98/37/EC
Whether for mobile work platforms, storage and retrieval machines or derricks ... the machine directive 98/37/EC stipulates that a declaration of conformity is required for all hoists and cranes prior to commissioning
Conformity is confirmed by affixing the CE marking. Responsibility for this process rests with the manufacturer or his/her authorized representative established within the EU. In special cases, responsibility may, however, also rest with the operator, for example, if machines are assembled.
