Today's targets to safeguard the future
The EU has set itself the target of generating 22% of its electricity from renewable sources by 2010. Therefore the EU is already pointing the way with its legal regulations and research programs.
Liberalization of the electricity market as well as increased environmental and sus-tainability awareness have opened up three market segments:
- the ecopower market and its products for end consumers;
- the wholesale market for renewable energies;
- the renewable-energy-certificate trading market.
