Decommissioning and dismantling
Decommissioning and dismantling of nuclear facilities
TÜV SÜD gives special consideration to the harmful effects of ionizing radiation on man and the environment
According to the German Atomic Energy Act, a license is required to decommission and dismantle a nuclear facility. The entire dismantling concept is evaluated and the procedures to be applied are qualified wherever necessary. The individual steps of the dismantling process are assessed and subjected to in-process monitoring within the regulatory framework in a way that compares to the oversight exercised in the operation of nuclear facilities.
TÜV SÜD's advisory services for nuclear facilities extend to all aspects of decommissioning and dismantling of old plants and components of various types of nuclear power plants.
Our extensive experience arises from our involvement in this field both on national and international levels over many years.
