TÜV SÜD strengthens its position in France
TÜV SÜD has strengthened its position in France. By establishing its new subsidiary TÜV SÜD France SAS, the international provider of testing and certification services has doubled its staff in France to over 20. The new subsidiary is slated to grow rapidly over the next years.
The core business of TÜV SÜD France will consist of product testing, testing and certification of steam and pressure equipment and certification of management systems. The new company is headquartered in Lyon and maintains branch offices in Lille and Metz. "By establishing TÜV SÜD France, we are significantly upgrading our company's position in France", notes Joachim Birnthaler, CEO of the Western Europe Region at TÜV SÜD. "We are demonstrating that we are expanding our activities in this important market and aim to fully exploit our market opportunities there."
According to Birnthaler, testing and certification of plants and components in the field of steam and pressure engineering offers considerable market potential. "This is one of the core competencies of TÜV SÜD and we have achieved targeted strengthening of this area in France", explains Birnthaler. "However, the French companies will benefit not only from our services on site but first and foremost from our familiarity with national and international codes and standards and our global network.
Another priority of TÜV SÜD's activities in France will be to further expand activities in the field of product testing. "In our accredited laboratory in Lille we already offer quick checks as well as function and usability tests for consumer products", explains Birnthaler. "Against the background of global sourcing, consistent, end-to-end control of the entire production and purchasing chain is also becoming increasingly important", he adds. "We can look back on almost 25 years of successful activities as product testing specialists. We have the know-how, the experience and the global network to provide targeted support to retailers, importers and manufacturers."
