TÜV SÜD America Increases Consumer Goods & Retail Certification Test Activities
TÜV SÜD America is pleased to announce added investment and increasedengineering expertise with the certification of playground equipment and surfacing for the InternationalPlay Equipment Manufacturers Association (IPEMA), bunk beds, safety eyewear, sports equipment, andjuvenile products, permitting manufacturers to obtain CPSIA and IPEMA certifications. Globally, the TÜVSÜD Group, with its more than 600 locations and over 15,000 employees, is able to test, inspect, andcertify children's products to regulatory requirements wherever these products are produced worldwide.Since the passing of the Consumer Product Safety Improvement Act (CPSIA), TÜV SÜD has beenhelping manufacturers issue General Certificates of Compliance (GCC) at its facilities in Bangalore,Shanghai, Munich, Hong Kong, and now Plymouth, Michigan.

- Battery-powered toys (FCC & NRTL)
- Infant Care articles (16 C.F.R. Part 1510 (rattles), 16 C.F.R. Part 1511 (pacifiers)

- Chemical composition (16 C.F.R Part 1303 (lead paint), CPSC-CH-E1001-08, CPSC-CHE1002-08)
In the interest of public safety, IPEMA provides third-party Product Certification services for U.S. andCanadian public play equipment and U.S. public play surfacing materials. The services providevalidation of a participant's certification of conformance to one of the standards referenced below. Bothprograms are administered by TÜV SÜD America.
