The technology group The Linde Group is to cooperate even more closely in future with TÜV SÜD AG. The two companies signed an outline agreement today, Monday, on strategic and operational cooperation for their global activities in the longer term. The agreement sets out among other things the fundamental premises for assistance to be provided on major projects and for the certification of new technologies.
"For a long time, we have relied on the technical service provided by TÜV SÜD in our global operations", said Dr Aldo Belloni, member of the Linde AG Executive Board. A current example of this is the natural gas processing plant constructed by Linde in Kollsnes, Norway. The experts in TÜV SÜD assisted Linde at every stage of the implementation of this technically demanding three-year project, applying their know-how and experience in building inspection and quality assurance. "The outline agreement will provide us with a reliable basis for the implementation of similar projects and for collaboration in the longer term between our two companies", explained Dr Belloni.
The outline agreement covers the entire range of services offered by TÜV SÜD. "The contract refers specifically to our consultancy, testing, certification and training services", explained Dr Peter Hupfer, Chairman of the Board of Management of TÜV SÜD AG. The teams of specialists in the international services group work together with their customers as process partners to optimise technology, systems and know-how. "With our range of services, we can support The Linde Group worldwide and make a significant contribution towards greater safety and greater profitability." This also applies to areas of innovation such as hydrogen technology. For example, Linde placed its trust in the expertise of TÜV SÜD for the certification and registration of its mobile filling unit traiLH2™. "This mobile hydrogen filling station", said Dr Hupfer, "is another important step towards the safe handling of hydrogen and the extensive use in future of this environmentally friendly fuel."
