Appointment of Chief Operating Officer, TÜV SÜD Asia Pacific

Singapore - TÜV SÜD Asia Pacific recently announced the appointment of Mr Ishan Palit to the position of Chief Operation Officer, Asia Pacific, effective 1 January 2009. Mr Palit’s main responsibilities include the business development of current and new businesses and the top and bottom line accountabilities of the business units in the Asia Pacific Region. His portfolio of responsibilities also includes the Marketing and Innovation functions for the Asia Pacific region.

Mr Palit joined TÜV SÜD in 1994 as General Manager for India Operations and was appointed Managing Director of TÜV SÜD South Asia in 1999, a position held prior to his current appointment. Under his management, TÜV SÜD South Asia has expanded to over 30 locations throughout India, Bangladesh and Sri Lanka and has representative offices in Qatar and the United Arabic Emirates. With about 800 employees, TÜV SÜD South Asia generated an annual turnover of about EUR 11 Million in 2008.

Mr Eilers together with Mr Palit and Mr Christoph Schipper, Chief Finance Officer, will spearhead TÜV SÜD’s operations in Asia Pacific.

Ishan Palit was born in Mumbai, India and holds a Bachelors Degree in Engineering. He completed his Master in Business Administration at Georgia Southern University, USA and earned a General Degree in Economics at the London School of Economics, UK.
