TÜV SÜD achieves fifth consecutive record result (09.05.2008)

  1. The Munich-based service group TÜV SÜD is in top form, closing fiscal 2007 with the best result in its history and the fifth consecutive record result. Consolidated sales climbed from EUR 1.16 billion to 1.27 billion, equivalent to over nine per cent growth. The pre-tax result soared by 44 per cent from EUR 81 million to 116 million.

TÜV SÜD plans to double its sales by 2013 (20.12.2007)

  1. International service corporation TÜV SÜD plans to almost double its sales to € 2.3 billion in the coming six years. This corresponds to almost 10 per cent annual growth, which the service provider intends to achieve through organic growth and targeted acquisitions in equal proportions. TÜV SÜD Chairman of the Board of Management Axel Stepken announced these plans to journalists in Munich today.

Dr Manfred Bayerlein appointed to Board of Management (12.12.2007)

  1. Dr Manfred Bayerlein has been appointed to the Board of Management of TÜV SÜD AG. The 48-year old graduate engineer (Diplom-Ingenieur) was appointed Chief Operations Officer by the Supervisory Board of the international service corporation, effective 1 January 2008. Working in tandem with Chief Executive Officer Dr Axel Stepken and Chief Finance Officer Dr Peter Klein, Bayerlein aims to generate profitable growth for TÜV SÜD Group, worldwide.

Increased safety for Chinese products (19.09.2007)

  1. Against the backdrop of current Chinese product recalls, TÜV SÜD and the Chinese authority CIQ (China Inspection and Quarantine) are planning to co-operate more closely in future. Co-operation between regulatory bodies and product testing specialists can further enhance the safety of Chinese products and minimize consumer risks.

TÜV SÜD sets new standards in climate change (19.09.2007)

To enhance transparency in the emissions trading sector, TÜV SÜD has developed its own quality standard for climate change projects which are launched as voluntary methods of offsetting greenhouse gases. A VER+ certificate furnishes proof that a project is comparable with emission reduction projects based on the Kyoto Protocol, and confirms the additionality of the project’s contribution to climate change mitigation. TÜV SÜD will supply information about VER+ and its range of energy services at the 20th World Energy Congress, held in Rome on 11 to 15 November from 10 am to 7 pm daily. TÜV SÜD and TÜV NORD remain independent (27.08.2007)

Government contract: TÜVTURK takes over roadworthiness testing (14.08.2007)

  1. One of the most important acquisitions in TÜV SÜD's corporate history has been wrapped up: the Turkish government and TÜVTURK are set to sign the concession contract for carrying out periodic roadworthiness testing in Turkey. Under this contract, TÜVTURK will establish a Turkey-wide network of almost 200 service centres over the next months.

TÜV SÜD donates walter filtration system to Indonesian villagers (16.07.2007)

  1. Northern Sumatra, Indonesia- TÜV SÜD recently donated water filtration systems to 10 villages in Aceh Tamiang and Medan, Northern Sumatra as part of “The Clean Water Project”, a goodwill initiative aimed at providing clean water to areas affected by the Asian Tsunami two years ago. This project is the first goodwill initiative conducted by TÜV SÜD in Asia with the help of PSB Technologies. Spanning over five months, the project involved designing, fabricating, installing, commissioning and managing the project to full operation and was recently concluded with a handover by Dr Steve Lai, CEO of PSB Technologies on 14 June 2007.

PSB: Asian Academy for industry and business (11.05.2007)

  1. PSB Academy Pte Ltd (PSB Academy), a member of TÜV SÜD Group (TÜV SÜD), announced today at the opening of its new Campus @ Delta, that it will become an Asian Academy for Industry and Business to meet the growing technical and specialist manpower needs in the region.

TÜV SÜD supports organizations in REACH implementation (11.05.2007)

  1. On 1 June 2007, the EU's Chemicals Regulation REACH will come into force. It applies to the producers and processing companies of over 30,000 chemicals. The entire regulatory framework – including implementation guidelines – totals several thousand pages. TÜV SÜD experts support organizations in implementing the regulation by offering their regulatory expertise and their global network.

TÜV SÜD corporate video wins top award in Hollywood (08.05.2007)

  1. A top year for TÜV SÜD and its corporate video "Just what are they like, these people": the corporate image film collected the "2007 Gold Camera Award" at the International Film and Video Festival in Hollywood and was awarded first place in the "Public Relations: Corporate Image" category!

Long-term cooperation for global operations (26.03.2007)

  1. The technology group The Linde Group is to cooperate even more closely in future with TÜV SÜD AG. The two companies signed an outline agreement today, Monday, on strategic and operational cooperation for their global activities in the longer term. The agreement sets out among other things the fundamental premises for assistance to be provided on major projects and for the certification of new technologies.
